Hello, Welcome to Desert Gems Griffons. We have been breeding Wirehaired Pointing Griffons since 2018 under the kennel name Glacier Gem’s Griffons, breeding with mentor Glacier Kennels. Recently we updated our kennel name to Desert Gems Griffons. We are active members of the American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Association, which is the breed parent club here in the United States.
Our Griffons are active in both conformation and hunting. We health test Eyes, Hips, Elbows, Thyroid and Cardio. Puppies are raised in our home with socialization being key. Puppies will go home exposed to crates, potty training, children, loud noises, nail clipping etc. Our puppies make great hunting companions, eager to work with their owner. We have also bred multiple AKC Grand Champions and Hunt Titled dogs. We believe that structure is key for having a hunting dog who can hunt with you for many, many years. We strive with each litter to breed to the breed standard, with correct structure and coarse coat. We generally only place one litter per year and do keep a waiting list.
